Soupy Image Explorer
Privacy Policy
Soupy Image Explorer, also labeled Soupy Viewer in preview builds, is provided by Soupy Labs (John Beene). Contact us at j.beene89@gmail.com with privacy questions.
Images stay on your device
The Android app reads only image files or archives you choose through Android’s file picker. It processes scan images and any patient information contained in those files locally to display the study and create exports you request. The app does not upload scans to Soupy Labs, include advertising or analytics, or operate an app account service.
Local storage and deletion
The app remembers whether you have seen the introductory notice. When Pro billing is enabled, it stores a signed Google Play purchase receipt locally to verify access while offline. If you redeem a complimentary Pro code, the app validates it locally and stores it privately on this device; the code remains local unless you open browser AR, which sends encrypted access proof to the viewer server as described below. Viewer assets and display preferences may be cached on your device. Scans are processed in memory rather than saved to an app-owned scan library. Closing the app releases the active scan session. Android app backup is disabled.
Clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling removes its preferences, purchase cache and other local app data. It does not delete original files or completed exports. Manage those files through your device or their storage provider. After reinstalling, a Pro purchase can be restored through Google Play using the purchasing account, or a complimentary code can be entered again.
Bundled demo
The optional demo scan is a mathematical phantom stored inside the app. It is not a real person’s scan, contains no patient information, and requires no external download.
Pro purchases
Where available, Pro is an optional one-time purchase processed by Google Play. Google handles payment details; Soupy Labs does not receive your payment-card number through the app. The app exchanges purchase information with Google Play to check ownership and confirm delivery. No scan images or patient labels are sent for billing. Google’s processing is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. Google Play may make transaction information available to the developer for purchase support and administration.
Exports and external services
Exports are saved to the destination you select. That destination can be a cloud storage provider, whose privacy terms govern its storage and synchronization. Images and exports may contain patient names or other medical information; review them before sharing.
Browser viewer and AR access
The optional browser AR command opens the hosted Soupy viewer. The Android app does not transfer the active scan. You choose files again, and the browser processes them locally. The browser viewer has no scan upload or analytics service.
To carry Pro access to the browser, Android encrypts either your complimentary code or Google Play purchase token for the viewer server. It includes no scan pixels, filenames or patient labels. The encrypted handoff is put in a URL fragment, which is not sent with the page request, and removed from the browser history entry before the browser sends it to the server over HTTPS for verification. Handoffs expire after two minutes.
The server checks complimentary access or verifies a purchase token with Google Play. It issues a Secure, HttpOnly browser cookie that lasts one hour and permits advanced viewer tools. The application does not store access proofs in a server database or write them to application logs. End browser Pro through the Pro access dialog, clear this website's cookies, or wait for expiry to end the browser session. Android access remains separate and can be restored as described above.
The hosting service processes ordinary web request information such as IP address, browser details and request times under its own policies. Site access may require ChatGPT sign-in while the viewer is restricted; the viewer application does not use that identity to grant Pro. No payment-card data or medical files are needed for browser access verification.
